BostonThe Attorney General’s Office announced a $50,000 settlement with Senior Life Insurance Company (SLIC), to resolve allegations that the company engaged in a pattern of misleading content distribution suggesting the private company was affiliated with a government agency.

Under the terms of the Assurance of Discontinuance, SLIC will pay $50,000 to the Commonwealth, and make content and formatting clear that SLIC has no connection to any government agency or public benefits program.

AG Campbell has made consumer protection a top priority of her administration. The settlement announced with SLIC is the latest example of AG Campbell’s actions to protect consumers and ensure transparency with constituents.

This matter is being handled by Assistant Attorney General David Lim of the Attorney General Office’s Insurance and Financial Services Division.
